8 years ago today…
My father lost his battle with cancer. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of him and miss him. The memories bring a smile to my face but some days a tear to my eye as well. The pain never goes away because the love for him never fades. I know that I am very blessed that I got to spend 20 loving years with my father. Many people are not able to say that in this world and I do not take that for granted.
This week’s workout plan
Monday - Kickboxing
Tuesday - Softball game
Wednesday - Kickboxing
Thursday - Softball game
Friday - Off
Saturday - Crossfit
Sunday - Full Body Circuit & Cardio
I’m struggling with finding times to sneak cardio in this week and allow my body a full 24 hours to recover. I may try to find a park where I can get in a run between work and my softball games. I dont know what time I play on Thursday but I may have time to get some cardio in after the game since they tore the lights down and we can only play at 6 or 7. Since my cardio is down this week I will just have to make sure that my diet is on point this week.
Crazy..
Does not even begin to describe my weekend!! This weekend, starting on Thursday really, was one of the most fun weekend I’ve had in awhile but it was completely off my diet and exercise regiman. I dont want to say I feel guilty but I’m definitely looking forward to getting back on track. I think it’s good to indulge once in a while as long as it doesnt become a habit. It is also clear, the more alcohol I have, the more I’m thrown off course so it’s best to limit myself. Friday night my roommate had a couple friends visit who were soo much fun. The night definitely got wild and its probably best to leave it at that and mostly I dont really remember a lot of it. Saturday I had my first hangover in a very long time and I definitely don’t miss that feeling. On Saturday, my mom came into town so we could celebrate mother’s day. After lunch and shopping with her, I took a nap and tried to start feeling human again so I could go out again with some friends. It was definitely a much more relaxed night than the previous but we still had some drinks but luckily no shots. I’m too old to go hard 2 nights in a row anymore. Sunday I got my life back in order and recovered all day. I feel great this morning but itching for a workout since I’ve had 3 days off. I’m pretty sure kickboxing is going to be brutal today because of it.
Cinco de Mayo..Epic Fail
Oh cinco you got the best of me. Now I remember why I dont like going out during the work week. I only had 3 long island iced teas but I woke up an hour later than normal this morning meaning I did not have time to cook breakfast. I did not make a fruit salad for my mid morning snack and I did not make a salad for lunch. So pretty much 3 drinks just ruined 3 meals…ugh. I was able to make some quick fixes though instead of completing throwing in the towel for today. I made a smoothie for breakfast that I could drink on my way to work. I did have 1 apple left that I grabbed for my mid morning snack and lunch I will have to run out and get something but I’m trying to think of a place I can go and get a good salad. On another though, last night was really fun and I think we found our new hang out spot!
Today..
is a I want to drink an entire bottle of tequila kinda day…ugh
And…
Its off to kickboxing I go!!

Mixing it up in May
I made the decision over the weekend to do Crossfit twice a week instead of just on Saturdays. I was having trouble getting motivated to do other workouts that I knew would not be as intense as Crossfit or Kickboxing so I decided it would just be better to do Crossfit at least twice a week. My friend’s dad also said he would help me make a makeshift at home workout that I could do with things around my apt to get in an extra day without having to make the trip to the school. So my new workout schedule is going to be:
Monday - Crossfit
Tuesday - Softball, 30 minutes of cardio
Wednesday - Kickboxing
Thursday - Softball, 30 minutes of cardio
Friday - Off
Saturday - Crossfit
Sunday - At home Crossfit workout
That will give me 4 days of High Intensity and 2 days I will just focus on cardio to improve my endurance and stamina for my workouts. This workout schedule along with Paleo should really help in making May my B and I can’t wait :)
Weigh In Day & New Goals
Today was the final weigh in day for April. My goal was to lose 10 lbs. I only lost 7 lbs but I’m happy with that number. I really focused and set a work-out regiman in the month of April and did not focus on my diet as much. Now that I have my routine in place, the month of May will be incorporating my focus into my diet and exercise. I am in my first week of paleo and am loving it. I’m not sure why I didn’t do this before. I thought I would struggle with the fruits and vegetables, but come to find out I can’t get enough! Anyway I’m excited for May and to continue on my journey to a healthier lifestyle and getting into the best shape of my life. June 3 will be my next weigh in day for May and I’m setting the goal at 10 lbs again.
